Operation and measurement  principle

The measurement medium, e.g. the chimney exhaust air ,is derived from an isokinetic  bypass and is examined by a downstream monitor for tritium activity. In the process, the chimney exhaust air to be measured is sucked through a pre-filter to the detector.
There, this air is mixed with counting gas (CH4 or P10) in the ratio 1:2 or 1:3 and  then re-fed into the chimney‘s circulation. The aerosols that could lead to the detector  be coming contaminated are separated at the pre-filter. Measurement medium and counting gas are set by automatic controllers in terms of volume flow rate amountand mixture ratio. The throughput rates are displayed on the 7-inch touch display.

Tritium monitors from the RMS TriNo series by mab Solutions GmbH have a compact  structure and comprise the following components:
- Proportional volume flow rate detectors; compared to other detectors (e.g. volume flow rate ionisation chambers), these detectors boast great benefits interms of their low susceptibility to fault sand their detection sensitivity.Inthisway, some 370 Bq/m³ can be detected in air with short operate times.
- Microprocessor-controlled evaluation electronics
- Automatic counting / measure gas - mixing unit
- Interfaces for secondary warning systems
